Friday was a big day for Cardi B, for more than one reason.
The rapper (whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar) was nominated for five Grammys — only a handful of other artists earned more nods — for her album Invasion of Privacy, her songs “I Like It” and “Be Careful,” as well as for “Girls Like You,” the Maroon 5 track on which she’s featured. (Cardi B received her first Grammy nomination in 2018 for her performance of “Bodak Yellow.”)
Unfortunately, Cardi B heard the news as she left a left a New York City courthouse, where she appeared at a hearing about an Aug. 29 incident at Angels Strip Club in Flushing, N.Y.
Sisters Jade and Baddie Gi, who worked as bartenders at the establishment, claim that members of Cardi B’s posse assaulted them after she instructed them to do so. At the time of the fight, TMZ reported that Cardi B suspected Jade had slept with her husband, Migos singer Offset.
